Walking Lightly is a KwaZulu-Natal based creative studio rooted in sustainability, remembrance, and the beauty of the natural world. Every piece is thoughtfully handcrafted using ethically sourced and often recycled materials, with a deep intention to create art that leaves a gentler footprint on the earth.
Inspired by what nature leaves behind, Walking Lightly transforms shells, bones, pressed flowers, insects, reclaimed materials and naturally found treasures into jewellery, wall dΓ©cor, keepsakes, centerpieces, meaningful custom pieces and more. Limited to near to nothing. Nothing is taken through harm - all natural elements are ethically found after life has already passed, honouring the cycle of nature rather than exploiting it.
What began as an exploration of mushrooms and butterfly wings slowly evolved into a wider practice of preservation and storytelling through resin, wire, beads, mixed media, and much more. Today, no two creations are ever the same. Each piece is made with care, curiosity, and respect for both the materials and the stories they carry. Constantly evolving.

Walking Lightly specializes in memorial ash work and deeply personal commissions, creating lasting keepsakes that help preserve memories, celebrate loved ones, and bring clients' visions to life in a tangible and heartfelt way.
